Canadian company buys UK’s most iconic Indian restaurants, including Veeraswamy and Chutney Mary
Canadian firm Fairfax Financial Holdings has acquired MW Eat Ltd, which owns iconic Indian restaurants like Michelin-starred Veeraswamy. The acquisition comes as Veeraswamy’s owners are in a legal battle with The Crown Estate over a lease renewal dispute. The original founders will continue working with Fairfax to expand the restaurant group globally.
