‘Problem is volume’: SC seeks report on digital arrests; directs CBI to draft probe plan

The Supreme Court has issued notices to all states and Union Territories regarding the escalating digital arrest scams, seeking details on registered FIRs and ongoing investigations. The court is considering entrusting the overall probe to the CBI for better coordination, especially for transnational crimes, and will hear the matter again on November 3.
