SC seeks Centre’s response on plea to declare cancer a nationwide notifiable disease

In his plea, a retired AIIMS oncologist has highlighted that 90% of India’s population was currently not covered in any systematic cancer surveillance mechanism. The petition also flags ‘chronic and severe under-reporting’ of cases and promotion of misinformation such as ‘cow urine as cancer cure’.
