4 Marineland belugas, 1 dolphin, died after being transferred. Why the rest remain on 'death watch'
Once-loved and now-defunct Marineland transferred all of its remaining captive whales to five destinations over the summer, after the federal government banned keeping captive whales in the country in 2019. However, four belugas and one dolphin have since died in separate instances, prompting questions about the animals’ health and well-being during and after the transfer.
