New Jersey-bound JetBlue plane that plunged thousands of feet likely hit by 'cosmic rays from another galaxy'

A JetBlue flight from Cancun to Newark experienced a sudden, severe altitude drop, injuring 15 passengers on October 30. While initially attributed to solar radiation, a space expert now suggests a cosmic ray from a distant supernova may have disrupted the plane’s electronics. Solar radiation levels on October 30 were not high enough to cause the disruption, the expert said.
