Oil prices rise, global markets decline ahead of U.S. blockade of Strait of Hormuz

Brent crude oil, the international standard, rose $7.04, or 7.4 per cent, to $102.24 US a barrel on Monday. That’s up from roughly $70 per barrel before the war in late February. Markets in France, Britain, Germany, Japan, South Korea and more also declined.
