Residents displaced by wildfire race to rebuild in Denare Beach, Sask., before snow flies
Earlier this year, wildfire destroyed more than 200 homes in Denare Beach, including 24 on the adjacent Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation reserve. Rebuilding is underway but anxiety is high as some wonder if enough is being done to prepare the community for next year’s wildfire season.
