Russia takes another step toward tightening control of the internet, calling it 'national security'

The recent introduction of the messaging app Max is the Kremlin’s latest effort to tighten control over Russia’s digital space by throttling foreign platforms, either by blocking them or slowing them down so they are largely inaccessible. It has drawn immediate comparisons to China’s WeChat.
