SMAT: Match-fixing scandal hits domestic cricket; 4 players suspended


Assam Cricket Association has suspended four players with immediate effect following allegations of involvement in corrupt practices during the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. The players are accused of attempting to instigate current team members for fixing. The BCCI’s Anti-Corruption and Security Unit conducted an inquiry, leading to criminal proceedings and an FIR against the accused.
